| Sumerian Records Battle Of The Bands |
Compete for a chance to play either Summer Slaughter in Denver or Scream It Like You Mean It in Denver!
Judging is based on song writing, originality, stage presence, crowd reaction and tightness of playing. Ticket sales do not determine the winner. The winner is ultimately based on talent and perceived potential, not ticket sales. However, we strongly believe bands should be getting as many fans and friends out as possible to support them. Headbang for the Highway gives out brutally honest, yet constructive criticism. Think "Simon" from American Idol, but constructively.
The judges will speak with each band individually after their set to give constructive, but brutally honest criticism.

| Vital Malice |
 Started in the summer of 2006 by Ty, Vital Malice has become one of the "best young upcoming band in the Springs". They first came on the scene in August of 2007, and in Feburary 2008, they released their first full-length album titled "Step One: Feed the Masses" and are currently working on their second 12 track album titled "Fear Campaign". Playing with national acts such as Into Eternity, SiX, Hell Within, A Plea for Purging, and State of Insomnia, Vital Malice has definately made a name for itself in the local scene and are now featured on XM Satellite Radio, iTunes, and many other promotional mediums.

With a consistent passion for all genres of music, they ring out with nu-metal breakdowns, powerful, melodic singing and hardcore screaming. With songs about aspiring beyond that of the typical metal hatred, it's clear that the band's lyrics have a deeper message of reconciling and enlightened emotion.... Plus one of the guitarist is missing two fingers!
