Bear Hands Announce Fall Tour

BEAR HANDS REVEALS ALTERNATE VIDEO FOR "AGORA"
FROM LATEST FULL-LENGTH DISTRACTION
ANNOUNCES FALL & WINTER TOUR DATES

Today, Bear Hands is revealing an alternate video to "Agora" from the band's recent full length Distraction (Cantora). The video, which was directed by Sami Jano and Steve Meierding,
playfully incorporates the track's lyrics into a wildly colorful montage of cluttered items strewn around the home of the titular agoraphobe. The video is available to stream or embed HERE.

Bear Hands has already had a notably busy year, but even after a tireless tour regimen with stops at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Made in America and more, the band is all but slowing down. The group has now extended their touring season even further with the addition of new dates, beginning on September 5 at the KRBZ Beach Ball in Kansas City, MO and concluding on November 15 at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY. These shows, which feature
support from Fences on select dates, include a hometown show at the Bowery Ballroom on October 6. The current list of tour dates is below, with more to be announced soon.
Distraction has been met with praise, with Pretty Much Amazing singling out Distraction cut "Bone Digger" as "just too funky to have come from human hands." Shortly after the release of Distraction, NPR called them one of the best discoveries of SXSW 2014, lauding their "serious, intricate pop." Pigeons and Planes praised Distraction's "bevy of jangling guitars and energetic songwriting," while Consequence of Sound noted that "no matter the individual song's components, though, an underlying punk ethos still shines thanks to their insatiable sense of curiosity and their utter creative fearlessness." Death and Taxes said that Distraction "blends lush guitar textures with irresistible melodies to pleasing effect," while Alternative Press said "Bear Hands are great... and they're evolving faster than most of the stuff on your hard drive."

Authority Zero release new video for "Lift One Up"

ShareThis
Mesa, Arizona’s influential punk veterans Authority Zero have just released their new video for "Lift One Up" off their current release "The Tipping Point" Out Now on Hardline Entertainment http://hardlineent.com/store

Catch the band on their upcoming RISE TO THE FALL US TOUR in Denver and Colorado Springs! Tickets available at Ticketweb.com

Watch The Video Here! http://youtu.be/IdGKnj7j8EQ
It's finally here! Back in early 2014 we put out the concert of doing a "Shakeface" video for our latest single Lift One Up off The Tipping Point. The song embraces the concept of celebration of life, friendships, and the music that brings us all together in celebration of just that. The concept was meant to involve people from all around the world and so we asked everyone to send us in their "Shakeface" videos. The driving force behind it was to make our fans and friends the biggest part of the video and what it represented. Good times, good friends, and letting loose. Unfortunately many of the videos we received we unusable due to quality or misunderstanding, so rather than exclude anyone for that purpose, we've chosen to do two versions of the video. Here is the video we shot on location in Tempe, Arizona with the full on show combined with all our local friends and family doing the "Shakeface" and getting rad at the show that day. Jason broke a rib that day during performance (which we decided to leave in for fun), people were damn near passing out, and everyone had a killer time. A huge thank you from all of us to you for attending and making it possible! Shortly after the release of this video we will be also releasing a full on "Shakeface" video with every single video (regardless of quality or filming) in it! So here it is! After months of editing, re-editing, and conceptual changes, we present you with our Official Video Premier For "Lift One Up"!
Enjoy, Jason Devore

Riot Fest and Sideshow Denver Announce New Location for 2014!

ShareThis
Denver's Riot Fest & Sideshow to be Staged at
Sports Authority Field at Mile High and Byers is Coming Along

Byers, Colorado and May Farms to be recreated onsite
Riot Fest Officially Files Formal Appeal With Arapahoe County

For immediate release – July 18, 2014

Riot Fest is happy to announce that after visiting many great venues over the course of the past week that Sports Authority Field at Mile High will be the official home for Riot Fest & Sideshow, Sept, 19-21, 2014 in Denver, Colorado.

Although dozens of venues were interested in hosting the event, organizers chose the stadium for several factors, one of which being that stadium management have allowed Riot Fest to recreate Byers, Colorado and May Farms on the new fest grounds.  Riot Fest made many friends in the Byers community, and it truly saddens organizers to be forced to move the fest away from its inaugural home – but if the farm is unavailable, they’ll bring the farm to Denver. Moreover, as previously promised, free parking will be made available to the festival's patrons, and Mile High's location will allow for public transportation options through the RTD.  All tickets will be honored at the new location and refunds for those who purchased camping spots will be processed starting today.

Outside of bringing the May Farms aesthetic to the new site, organizers will also go ahead with the previously planned carnival rides and games, a miniature golf course, lucha libre, a large circus tent with oddities performers and a long list of amazing food vendors.  Other plans include turfing the parking lot of the stadium and bringing all the things people love about May Farms (tractors, hay bales, etc) together with all the things to love about a country fair (rides, a pie eating contest, apple bobbing and more).  Even the stages and vendor rows have been renamed to indicate Riot Fest’s support of Byers, Colorado.

To thank the Byers residents, Riot Fest organizers have also confirmed the following:
  • Any Byers resident who wants to come to Riot Fest this year will receive complimentary tickets as well as free daily shuttle service to and from May Farms and Sports Authority Field.  Details will be announced next week on how residents can sign-up for this.
  • Riot Fest will also allow several Byers businesses and other I-70 Corridor businesses who supported them free vending space at no cost.
  • Riot Fest has also announced a $5,000 scholarship to be awarded to one graduating senior who plans on majoring in music, arts, business or marketing.  Riot Fest has now asked other partners, industry friends and other Colorado businesses to contribute in hopes of getting that scholarship up to $20,000.

Hundreds of residents of Byers wrote letters and showed support for Riot Fest in the past weeks and organizers would sincerely like to thank them for their support.  Although Riot Fest has now officially chosen Sports Authority Field at Mile High as their 2014 home and will not move, producers will formerly file an appeal this morning against the Arapahoe County’s decision regarding their 2014 temporary use permits.

One, two, and three-day passes for Denver's festival are still available and on sale now at ticketfly.com or visit riotfest.org for more information

Riot Fest & Sideshow Full Album Surprises!

Riot Fest Unveils “10 Years. 10 Essential Albums.”
For Chicago & Denver
Ten Bands To Play Their Seminal Albums at Riot Fests

On the heels of announcing Riot Fest in three cities within the past week (Toronto, Chicago and Denver), organizers have released the first big surprise in celebration of Riot Fest’s 10th Anniversary, entitled “10 Years. 10 Essential Albums.”

“During last year’s Violent Femmes’ set at Riot, where they performed Violent Femmes unannounced in its entirety, it dawned on me that if we ever did an album play thing at Riot, we should make it something that the fans would remember years from now,” said Michael Petryshyn, Riot Fest partner. “So, I literally was walking back to my trailer after their set and it hit me… ‘10 Years. 10 Essential Albums.’… and yeah, it grew from there.”

To help celebrate Riot Fest’s 10th Anniversary, ten bands have joined in to play their seminal albums either at Riot Fest in Chicago or in both Denver and Chicago. Nine of the bands have been released today:

Jane’s Addiction: Nothing’s Shocking (Chicago)
The Offspring: Smash (Chicago)
Weezer: “The Blue Album” (Chicago & Denver)
Slayer: Reign in Blood (Chicago & Denver)
Samhain: Initium (Chicago)
NOFX: Punk In Drublic (Chicago & Denver)
Descendents: Milo Goes To College (Chicago)
Naked Raygun: Throb Throb (Chicago)
The Get Up Kids: Something To Write Home About (Chicago)

There is one more album organizers are holding close to their chests, but have promised to unveil it in a separate announcement in the upcoming weeks, as well as additional 10th Anniversary surprises.

“We have one more band playing an album that we’re immensely excited about… but it wouldn’t be Riot if we didn’t tease a little beforehand,” chuckles Petryshyn. “No matter what though, this is really about thanking our fans. The work put into the lineups this year and things like the essential albums plays is for them… as clichéd as it may sound, it’s the truth. We’d be nowhere without them and maybe the way we thank them is by giving them a fest where we can all sing along."

Riot Fest is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, and to celebrate organizers have assembled three festivals in North America this September: Toronto's Riot Fest & Expo (9/6-9/7) at Downsview ParkChicago's Riot Fest & Carnival (9/12-9/14) in Humboldt Park, and Denver's Riot Fest & Sideshow (9/19-9/21) at May Farms.

Tickets for Riot Fest & Sideshow Denver are available here. More band announcements are forthcoming as well as a few more 10th Anniversary surprises. posted: May 16, 2014

Spirit, Soul, & Song Tour Cancelled

ShareThis
Unfortunately, both Spirit, Soul, & Song Tour shows on 6/3 & 6/5 in Denver and Colorado Springs have been cancelled. Please return to point of purchase for refunds.

A Message From Cas Haley:

It is with great sadness that Cas Haley has had to drop out of the first ever Spirit, Soul & Songs Tour, which was to feature acoustic sets by him, Kimie, Mike Love and Tubby Love. After suffering some recent issues with his voice, Cas saw a specialist in the last week and has been ordered on to vocal rest and ongoing voice therapy to recover. He has had to cancel his appearances on this tour, along with sets at Reggae In The Hills and California Roots Festival. The good news is that Cas expects to make a full recovery after a couple months of rest and hard work.  As a consequence our show will have to be cancelled.   Each artist hopes to set up rescheduled shows in those markets soon. Cas himself says, “I am so sorry to be disappointing fans expecting to see me, but I’ll be back on the road as soon as I can. In the meantime, I urge all of my fans to go out and support Kimie, Mike Love and Tubby Love, amazing musicians I am proud to call my friends!”

OFF! Announce Tour

OFF! Announce Tour, Share

In addition to leading the Black Flag reunion project FLAG, Keith Morris currently fronts OFF!, the hardcore supergroup featuring Dimitri Coats (Burning Brides), Mario Rubalcaba (Hot Snakes/Rocket From the Crypt/Earthless), and Steven McDonald (Redd Kross). They have a new LP, Wasted Years, out April 8 through Vice. It's the followup to 2012's self-titled.

Check out the video for album cut "Void You Out" below via Noisey, filmed this month in Southern California. Directed by Jason Farrell, it pairs a live performance with footage of the band members skateboarding and discussing such timeless matters as hating hippies, despising cops, and being punk on the inside. It also finds Morris cooking bacon and eggs. "The reason I'm in the band is because I don't know any better," he says. According to a press release, the video is a tribute to the classic punk documentary Decline of Western Civilization.

OFF! will also tour North America this spring, dates for which are below. They'll be joined by Cerebral Ballzy and NASA Space Universe.

Manchester Orchestra announces new shows!

MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM, COPE, APRIL 1, 2014 ON LOMA VISTA/FAVORITE GENTLEMEN RECORDINGS

ANNOUNCE SPRING 2014 HEADLINE TOUR DATES

Manchester Orchestra will release Cope on April 1, 2014 through their recent partnership with Loma Vista Recordings and their very own Favorite Gentlemen Recordings. The new full-length album from the Atlanta-based band was self-produced alongside their long-time collaborating partner Dan Hannon, and mixed by John Agnello at Fluxivity Studios in Brooklyn. They recorded the entire record in the home studio they built themselves after six months spent gutting and refurbishing the old house they used to live in together. The follow up to 2011’s Simple Math, the band’s critically acclaimed and highest charting album to date, Cope is an unrelenting and unapologetically heavy 38 minutes of rock. Manchester Orchestra will hit the road this spring, performing songs from the new album for fans on a headline two-month tour of North America. Upcoming tour dates below.  The band will also be headlining dates in April overseas in the UK.

Supporting the run will be Balance and Composure as well as Brooklyn native and Favorite Gentlemen label-mates Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band. Several tour dates will be performed as part of the Freedom Project™, an event series presented by blu eCigs. Additional details regarding this partnership are to come. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 24th to the general public for both North America as well as the UK.  The confirmed opener for UK will be Gang Of Youths.

Manchester Orchestra found itself at a crossroads as they approached making their fourth studio album -- in between labels and uncertain of the future for the first time since lead singer and songwriter Andy Hull started the band as a teenager almost a decade ago. He was barely finished with high school back then, and as they started writing, Hull and his band mates found themselves transitioning into the adult reality that shit happens. “Cope, to me, means getting by. It means letting go, and being OK with being OK,” says Hull. “You can cope in a positive way when bad things happen, or a negative way, and that blend was a big lyrical theme for me on this album.”

The behemoth title track “Cope” was written during one of the earliest sessions for the album, and it helped chart the course for everything that followed. “We wanted to make the kind of album that’s missing at this time in rock: something that’s just brutal and pounding you over the head every track,” Hull explains. “Whereas Simple Math was a different palate with each song, a different color, I wanted this to be black and red the whole time.”

After several months of writing and recording between June 2012 and March 2013, the band – lead guitarist Robert McDowell, keyboardist/percussionist Chris Freeman, bassist Andy Prince and drummer Tim Very – were forced to pair down the 28 or so completed songs in order to round out the album that would become Cope. “We demoed some slower, introspective songs,” relates Hull, “but we had to set those aside because this album is not that. This album was about being cool with dedicating yourself to something and sticking through with it. Even the album title is bold and straight-to-the-point.”

The direct and succinct nature of Cope is all the more refreshing considering two of the main factors surrounding its recording. Unlike their first three full-length albums where the band worked with producers Joe Chiccarelli and Dan Hannon in established, expensive studios, Cope was self-produced under the watchful and helpful eye of Hannon without any set limitations or times constraints. “There was no studio clock ticking, so we had the freedom to take our time and do whatever we wanted,” says Hull. “It was really cool, but weird, not having someone there saying ‘this is what you should do.’ It was more difficult, but more rewarding.”

Ten years after 17 year-old Hull started Manchester Orchestra as an outlet for his tender bedroom recordings, the singer-songwriter says he’s reached a place where he trusts his and his band’s instincts more than ever.

ANNOUNCES 2014 ‘AUTOMATIC WINTER TOUR’ DATES

TICKETS ON SALE THIS FRIDAY (11/8)

BAND WILL PERFORM AT THE
5TH ANNUAL CALIFORNIA ROOTS MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL
TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW

IRATION
(Lt to Rt): Joe Dickens, Cayson Peterson, Micah Pueschel, Adam Taylor

IRATION will kick off 2014 by doing what they love so much, hitting the road to play music and hang out with their fans. The reggae-influenced rockers will embark on the coast-to-coast “Automatic Winter Tour”--with support from Natural Vibrations, The Movement and select dates with Micah Brown--beginning January 24 in Ventura, CA, weaving their way across the U.S. to Florida and wrapping back around to close out March 22 in Anaheim, CA (itinerary below). Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday (11/8) via http://irationmusic.com. It was also recently announced that IRATION will again take the main stage at the 5th Annual California Roots Music & Arts Festival happening May 23-25, 2014 in Monterey, CA. Early bird tickets are on sale now at https://californiarootsfestival.eventbrite.com/.

This year has represented a period of growth for the Hawaiian-bred, Santa Barbara-based band, with their career elevating to a new level. Armed with their third full-length album AUTOMATIC, IRATION--Micah Pueschel (Guitar/Vocals), Joe Dickens (Drums), Adam Taylor (Bass) and Cayson Peterson (Keyboards)--further pushed their musical boundaries, with an emphasis on the craft of songwriting, while staying true to the sound their fans love. The band collaborated with Cage The Elephant guitarist Lincoln Parish who is featured on several tracks and helped co-produce select songs on the album along with long-time studio partner JP Hesser of Castaway 7 Studios in Ventura, CA.

“To me, Automatic is very, very different from [2010 album] Time Bomb,” MICAH told the Phoenix New Times. “It's still us, but what made Time Bomb a popular record was hooks, feel-good music, good rhythms--uplifting, for the most part. But we also wanted to do more songs that were geared to traditional roots reggae and have some rock influences. We wanted to experiment and do some acoustics…Automatic is much more diverse and eclectic as far as style. Another way is that the lyrical content is more mature.

“We worked with Lincoln Parish and he brought a lot of the rock. We wanted more rock. Every record that we've made has had a different set of influences. When we first started out we were really focused on making reggae tracks. With [2008 EP] Sample This and Time Bomb it was more pop and reggae and then we strayed from that sound a bit with [2011 EP] Fresh Grounds. Then with Automatic we wanted to make a record that had all of things we've already done but with more of a rock element.” (9/14/13)

The new direction paid off as the release of AUTOMATIC is their most successful release to date. The 16-track collection immediately shot all the way up to the #1 spot on both the Billboard and iTunes Reggae Albums charts, as well as #7 on the iTunes Overall Albums chart, #75 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #17 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart.

A music video for the album’s first official single “Back Around” has garnered over 35,000 views on YouTube. Watch the video--shot in IRATION’s Santa Barbara, CA hometown--here: http://youtu.be/2dqJQJ3Ievs. The song also received radio airplay nationwide, reaching #1 on most stations’ playlists where it was added, including spending several weeks at #1 for San Diego’s 91X. posted: November 6, 2013

Larry and His Flask Embark on Huge Fall US Tour
& Festival Dates

Tourmates include Murder By Death & Rev. Horton Heat

Oregon barn-burners Larry and His Flask are set to take their raucous, high-octane show all over the US this fall, starting with Asheville, NC next week followed by Tennessee's Muddy Roots Festival, then onto a full US tour in September with Murder By Death.  October sees them headlining across the Midwest and Southeast on their way to The Fest in Gainesville, FL before heading West and supporting Rev. Horton Heat for a series of shows in Northern California (all tour dates below).

These Americana-rock phenoms recently released their sophomore album By the Lamplight in the US via Cascadian Records with distribution by Silver Sprocket Records and throughout the rest of the world via Xtra Mile Recordings.  Impressive multi-instrumentalists, Larry and His Flask have honed their raucous and soulful signature sound to near perfection, complete with five-part harmonies.  The New York Times described The Flask as "uncommonly joyous, sure, but also deviously astute", while Paste declared "get your feet ready for some stomping"!

Larry and His Flask have been playing together for over 10 years, touring non-stop across the globe with their incredibly dynamic, roof-raising live shows.  In addition to Muddy Roots Festival and The Fest, the band's Fall run of dates also sees them playing festivals including Musicfest NW (Portland, OR), Shindig Music Festival (Baltimore), the Bend (OR) Fall Festival, Pygmalion Music Festival (Champaign, IL) and the MidPoint Music Festival (Cincinnati, OH).  Be sure to try to catch them when they come through your city!

June 6, 2013 - (Burbank, CA) – Two-time Grammy nominated pop-rock quintet Plain White T’s have announced a string of U.S. summer tour dates in support of their new single and EP, Should’ve Gone To Bed.  The shows kick off June 22 at the Lincoln Park Zoo in their hometown of Chicago (itinerary below).
"Should’ve Gone To Bed," which the T's recently performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, was written by vocalist/guitarist Tom Higgenson and produced by Tim Pagnotta (Neon Trees). The song recounts what a treacherous and retrospectively humiliating combination too many drinks, a smartphone and an empty bed can be in the aftermath of “striking out again.” Against his better judgment, the song’s narrator dials his ex’s number. “Here I go missing you again,” Higgenson sings ruefully. “God only knows what I said/I should’ve just gone to bed.”
Fans can go to VH1.com Friday, June 7 for the online exclusive premiere of the official “Should’ve Gone To Bed” video directed by Mike Venezia (“1,2,3,4” and “Rhythm of Love”). And tune in to VH1’s Top 20 Countdown Saturday, June 8 for the broadcast premiere. The band’s previously released meme themed lyric video for the track can be seen here
The EP also features “Haven’t Told Her," written by vocalist/guitarist Tim Lopez and produced by Pagnotta, as well the Higgenson-penned "Helium," which was recorded with Ian Kirkpatrick, producer of the band's 2010 release, Wonders of the Younger. The disc also features Lopez’s metaphorical ballad “Giving Tree” (produced by the renowned Joe Chiccarelli, with additional production by Mudrock) about a dysfunctional give-and-take relationship (he gives and she takes). Lopez applied the premise of Shel Silverstein’s children’s book of the same title, which he remembers being read to him during his formative years. “If all you wanted was love/Why would you use me up/Cut me down, build a boat and sail away?” he sings with palpable feeling. “When all I wanted to be/Was your giving tree/Settle down, build a home and make you happy.”
In a review of the EP, the New Times wrote, "…the sentimental pop-punk rockers have proved that their intimate, infectious tunes have real staying power.“
Truer words have never been spoken. Over the course of the past few years, Plain White T's have sold over nine million tracks, garnered two Grammy nominations and wrote and recorded three number one radio hits: "Hey There Delilah," "1, 2, 3, 4" and "Rhythm of Love."
The band--rounded out by drummer De’Mar Hamilton, bassist Mike Retondo and rhythm guitarist Dave Tirio--is currently working on a full-length follow-up to Wonders of the Younger. The album is scheduled for a fall 2013 release.

Havok to release new album!

HAVOK’s Unnatural Selection Set For Release

Candlelight Records confirms June 25 as the North American release date for Unnatural Selection, the new studio recording from Denver thrashers HAVOK. The ten-song album was produced by David Sanchez with mixing handled by Terry Date (Pantera, Overkill, Deftones). Unnatural Selection features original artwork from Polish illustrator Rafal Wechterowicz (Slayer, Mastodon) and was mastered by James Murphy (Aborted, World Under Blood, Abigail Williams).

“Give Me Liberty… Or Give Me Death,” the first single from Unnatural Selection, will hit Loud Rock/Metal radio on May 27. The topical song is a furious and urgent anthem that displays the band’s classic thrash and old school metal sound. Vocalist/guitarist David Sanchez ignites the fret board and barks the righteous lyrics while drummer Pete Webber punishes his immense kit. The song’s towering sound benefits from the unique acoustics of the old theater that was utilized as one of the many recording locations for the album. “I am super pumped on how the drums came out,” chimes Webber. “We recorded the drums in a theater to get a huge sound. It was a challenging experience for me between time constraints and the drum parts having much more feeling in them. I believe the added pressure made for some really awesome stuff. I can’t wait to unleash this album to the world.”

Unnatural Selection bears a far more mature collection of songs when compared to Burn (2009), and Time Is Up (2011). HAVOK has truly hit their mark with a sound that will please fans new and old. Additional album standouts include album opener “I Am The State,” “Chasing The Edge,” and the band’s rendition of the Black Sabbath classic “Children of the Grave.”

Unnatural Selection Track Listing:
1. I Am The State
2. Give Me Liberty… Or Give Me Death
3. It Is True
4. Under the Gun
5. Waste of Life
6. Untitled
7. Chasing the Edge
8. Worse Than War
9. Children of the Grave
10. Unnatural Selection

HAVOK will premiere material from Unnatural Selection tomorrow when they take the stage for the start of their European tour with Suffocation and Cephalic Carnage. The 28-city tour begins in Genève, Switzerland and will conclude in Munchen, Germany on June 8. Before departing for Europe, the band performed at a Denver Benefit. Sanchez comments, “We were honored to be part of HaneyStock. The show was a benefit for Chris Haney who was a bartender at the Gothic Theatre in our hometown who was senselessly murdered trying to break up a fight. All proceeds from the show are going to his young daughter. It was a great event that celebrated the life of an outstanding individual.”

HAVOK has planned three special record release performances. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at venue box offices and companion ticket agencies. A copy of Unnatural Selection will be included with ticket purchase to these area performances. HAVOK is planning a full North American tour for early summer. Details will be announced shortly. For a full list of dates on their European tour visit the band’s official Facebook page HERE.

HAVOK:
6/21/2013 Marquis Theatre – Denver, CO
6/22/2013 Black Sheep – Colorado Springs, CO
6/23/2013 Aggie Theater – Ft. Collins, CO

HAVOK, called “the finest thrash band in existence” by PopDose, released their full-length debut, Burn, mid-2009. The record found an immediate fan base and the curiosity of media around the globe. Time Is Up would follow in 2011. “HAVOK have hit their stride,” said Decibel Magazine in review of the album. “HAVOK is everything that is great about thrash,” added Terrorizer. In 2012, the band released their EP Point of No Return; videos for the EPs two original songs were released earlier this year. To view “Point of No Return” click HERE. To view “From the Cradle to the Grave” click HERE. The videos have had over 200,000 views to date. Metal Underground says, “HAVOK kicks your ass from the moment you hit play, and doesn’t ever let up.”

HAVOK is guitarist/vocalist Dave Sanchez, bassist Mike Leon, guitarist Reece Scruggs, and drummer Pete Webber. The band uses/endorses ESP Guitars, Charvel Guitars, EMG Pickups, Ernie Ball, Peavy Amplification, Pearl Drums, Trick Drums, and Sabian Cymbals.

DWNTWN added to Capital Cities tour!

DWNTWN embarks on two week tour with Capital Cities and Gold Fields.

"The band is setting off what should be a big year for them...Light on the ears, ignorant to miss" - EARMILK

L.A. based synth pop trio, DWNTWN has just been added to the second half of the Capital Cities tour, Dancing With Strangers. They pick up the tour with Gold Fields in Colorado Springs on May 21 and finish in Los Angeles with two sold out shows at the El Rey Theatre, June 6 and June 7.
This two week US run comes on the heels of DWNTWN's Los Angeles residency at Central SAPC in April.
DWNTWN's new collaboration with Jhameel and Giraffage, "Move Me" (which PITCHFORK calls a "sparkling electro-pop single") reached #3 on Hype Machine and was also selected for the recently released Kitsuné America 2 compilation. This is the second time DWNTWN has been featured on one of Kitsuné's trendsetting compilations. Their song "See My Eyes" was chosen last year for the first Kitsuné America release and this song too reached #3 on Hype Machine.
The band's four song EP, The Red Room, is available now and includes fan favorites "See My Eyes" and "Stood Me Up".

DWNTWN will appear with Capital Cities at the Black Sheep on 5/21, and also the Aggie Theater on 5/23. posted: May 16, 2013

Anberlin Acoustic Tour hits CO Springs and Fort Collins

ShareThis

Anberlin took the time to announce that they will be headlining a quick three week summer acoustic tour with Campfire OK and Stars In Stereo beginning in June. They will hit the Black Sheep in Co Springs on June 26 and Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins on June 27. Tickets on sale Friday via Ticketweb.com.

As far as setlists go, there is plenty of material for the band to rework for an acoustic performance, especially with the inclusion of their latest 2012 album, Vital. For those who don’t remember, the Florida based rock group completed a similar tour this past summer and it seems as if they’d like to repeat that this year, but to a new audience out west. The tour dates can be seen following the jump.

Two Shows Announce with LOGIC!

ShareThis

LOGIC
Visionary Music Group Tour
w/ Skizzy Mars

BLACK SHEEP
Saturday, May 25th

SUMMIT MUSIC HALL
Tuesday, June 11th

Skizzy Mars will open the show.  Showtime is 9:00 PM. Doors open at 8:00 PM.

Beginning in his home state of Maryland, upcoming star Logic (born Robert Bryson Hall II) has been crushing the rap scene since he was 17 years old. Logic cites the Wu Tang Clan as his influence in the early days.

Growing up without a father figure in his life, Logic left home and has been flying solo ever since. A compulsive perfectionist, Logic is “…always in the studio recording and mixing,” and doesn’t frequently “party and hang out, play video games and go on vacation.” Above anything, the results show in his lyrics. He is the most dedicated rapper in the game, hands down.

To this date, Logic has dropped three mixtapes, entitled Young, Broke & Infamous, Young Sinatra and Young Sinatra: Undeniable. His ‘The All I Do’ video was the first for Logic to hit over one million views. On March 15, 2012 Billboard declared Logic as the Next Big Sound, meaning he was the fastest accelerating artist across the internet gaining fans. On March 20, 2012 Logic officially signed with Visionary Music Group. Logic completed his first national headlining tour, the Visionary Music Group Tour, along with Tayyib Ali. The tour sold out 20 of its 25 stops. Logic just completed a highly successful first European tour (March 2013), which included stops in Amsterdam, Belgium, Switzerland, and London. His fourth mixtape, Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever, is slated for a spring 2013 release.

The Dirty Heads & Shiny Toy Guns Tour Announcement!

ShareThis
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 12, 2012

THE DIRTY HEADS and SHINY TOY GUNS ANNOUNCE CO-HEADLINE TOUR ODYSSEY POWERED BY PUREVOLUME

TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14

New York, NY –So-Cal alt rockers The Dirty Heads and LA electro-rock outfit Shiny Toy Guns have announced their co-headline Tour Odyssey Powered by PureVolume. The North American winter tour will have support from up-and-coming San Francisco alt/pop/rock band Midi Matilda, as well as emerging dance/rock band Oh No Fiasco.  The month-long run kicks off on February 13th in Dallas, TX and wraps up in Denver, CO on March 8th.  The bands have partnered with PureVolume, which will provide exclusive content from all bands throughout the tour, ticket and merchandise giveaways, and more. While The Dirty Heads and Shiny Toy Guns both call Five Seven Music their label home, their sounds are quite different, which promises to provide an exciting and eclectic night of music for concertgoers. The Dirty Heads and Shiny Toy Guns recently wrapped up sold out US tours this fall, both to rave reviews. Tickets are on sale Friday, December 14 beginning at 10:00AM EST and can be found via The Dirty Heads’ or Shiny Toy Guns’ websites.

Formed in 2003 out of Huntington Beach, CA, The Dirty Heads combine an intriguing mix of hip-hop, reggae and alternative rock with a sunny California swagger. The band’s most recent release, Cabin By The Sea, which features guests Del the Funky Homosapien, KyMani Marley and Matisyahu was globally released this past summer to rave reviews. Huffington Post said: “Summer 2012 officially has its soundtrack.”
The album is the band’s first debut on Billboard’s Top 20, as well as a peak position at #8 on iTunes overall music chart, #4 on iTunes Alternative chart and #3 on iTunes Independent chart.  The Dirty Heads’ debut album, Any Port In A Storm, released in September of 2008, features the hit track “Lay Me Down,” a song that spent eleven weeks at #1 on the Billboard alternative chart, more than any single that year by any other artist.  It is a certified gold single. Rolling Stone touted the ‘Heads as one of the year’s best new bands and they were among the first bands featured on YouTube's Raw Session.

Los Angeles electro-rock band Shiny Toy Guns recently released their latest album III, which features the first new material by the original line-up in five years.  Production on III is lush and dramatic, ranging from driving tracks like the first single due January 2013 “Somewhere To Hide,” “Waiting Alone” and “Speaking Japanese” into a sonic pendulum swing to the genre bending current release “Fading Listening.”  The band teamed up with legendary mixer Tony Maserati (Lady GagaBeyonceTaylor Swift, Alicia Keyes) to finalize and sharpen the new 2012 sound of the band.  Unlike any other group out there today, SHINY TOY GUNS music is driving rock and electro spearheaded by a male and female vocal courtesy of Chad Petree and Carah Faye. III was heralded as “impeccable…one of 2012’s best” by Associated Press.

Salvador Santana Live in Denver & Co Springs!

ShareThis
We are pleased to announce two shows with latin rock artist, Salvador Santana, son of legendary guitar player Carlos Santana, live at Marquis on March 8th and at Black Sheep on March 10th! Tickets for these epic shows go on sale this Friday, Dec. 21st! here.

ABOUT SALVADOR SANTANA:

Music is a burst of choices.

Not only what note to play when and with what instrument, but whether to play a note at all. Salvador Santana, the 28-year-old keyboardist, vocalist, composer, and songwriter with strong Bay Area roots, knows what it means to navigate the infinite options of music. His 2008 project with the Salvador Santana Band–simply called SSB–pursued the scope of his ability. But
for Santana, it wasn’t enough. He has no choice but to push himself further.

Collaboration has always been the centerpiece of his creations, and this passion manifested his solo debut “Keyboard City” (released 2/2 via Various Music/Quannum Projects) around the inspirations of a few legends: Bay Area MC/producer Del the Funky Homosapien who helped hone in Santana’s writing skills, Beastie Boy studio wizard Money Mark, and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan.

The legendary founder of the Wu-Tang Clan rallied support around the album by featuring himself on a remix of the title track “Keyboard City” earlier this fall which was later remixed by none other than Dan Deacon. This spontaneous meeting of the minds demonstrated Sal’s magnetic ability to connect every kind of artist on any dynamic level.

Money Mark inspired Santana in a beautiful way during the creation process. “With all the people I’ve ever collaborated with or just working by myself, I have never produced so many ideas into songs as I have during these Money Mark sessions. That guy is just a machine,” said Santana. “He has mentored me by showing me that it’s cool to be all over the place. It’s cool to sit there and work on a song, then out of nowhere, interrupt that flow and work on another idea. To just go with it,” Santana elaborates.

Santana is pushed by a need to step out of his comfort zone in a quest for new ideas. Easy going and humble, Santana exudes the Bay Area vibe. He began playing the drums at age three–sitting on his father’s lap, controlling the snare and tom, as his father worked the hi-hat and kick drum–but his true love was discovered when he began taking piano lessons when he was six. Later, he studied at San Francisco’s heralded School of the Arts before attending Cal Arts in Valencia, CA. His education, passion and lineage have turned Santana into a monster on the keys.

Music truly thrives in his veins. His maternal grandfather was blues pioneer Saunders King and his paternal grandfather was the internationally celebrated violinist and mariachi bandleader Jose Santana. And, of course, his father is 10X Grammy-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana…who’s also a frequent collaborator (Salvador co-wrote “El Farol” from 1999’s smash album Supernatural).

In addition to his musical desires, Santana has worldly efforts on his mind. After a trip to South Africa and inspiring work with Artists for a New South Africa (ANSA), something triggered inside of Santana to make sure his music wasn’t only about personal glory. Now that the record is out, Salvador will begin touring the project. He has already been posting various non-profit organizations on his website that will receive a percentage of the profits. “I want to use music in a positive way, and give back to people in need. There can never be enough people who do that.” And there can never be enough musicians pushing their art to the brink.
